"Zen without the accompanying physical experience is nothing but empty discussion. Martial ways without truly realizing the “Mind” is nothing but beastly behavior. We agree to undertake all of this as the essence of our training."
- Omori Sogen Roshi

Zen - Ken - Sho
(Zen - Sword - Brush)
We are fortunate to inherit a lineage with a rich path of training steeped in Zen, Budo (traditional martial arts), and Japanese fine arts. Zen - Ken - Sho is a curriculum of training to develop the human being in the most profound and transformative way.

Zen is contemplative and deep mediation training.
Ken is physical culture such as Budo (traditonal martial arts).
Sho is fine art as in Shodo (caligraphy) or Chado (tea ceremony).
We are pleased we can provide these 3 pillars of disciplines at Crestwood Aikido Shinjinkan Dojo to those interested in reaching their full potential.
