About the event
Nyosen Nakamura Sensei, Headmaster of the Kogetsu Enshu Ryu school of Zen Tea Ceremony, a style of Buke-Sado (samurai tea), will instruct at Korinji. This event is open to beginners as well as experienced tea practitioners.
Sensei’s instruction will include lecture on the history and principles of Kogetsu Enshu Ryu and the tea ceremony as practiced by the samurai. He will teach the body usage and movement that form the foundation of this practice. He will demonstrate the formal manner of making tea several times.
The purpose of this event is to help interested students actually enter the gate of Kogetsu Enshu Ryu, and so create a foundation for practice groups in N. America to begin studying regularly together. This is an excellent opportunity to enter the Way of tea under the guidance of a master teacher, and begin your own practice of Kogetsu Enshu Ryu Sado.
